Lips scrub – Best DIY using brown sugar to keep your lips moisturized in winters.

Are you facing the problem of dry and chapped lips?

Well, worry not. All you need is to stick up with me for 3-4 minutes. Today we’re gonna discuss the top DIY lip scrubs using the secret ingredient – Brown sugar.

Why lips scrub?

Yeah, that must be the first question that should pop up in your head. If it didn’t – well you can scroll down to DIY’s. Just kidding though!!

In winters, the harsh cold air sucks the moisture. As a result, your skin will be dry, cracked and chapped. To keep your skin moisturized, you should exfoliate it.

Some of you must have heard – Use facial scrubs on lips. Ladies, it’s a big lie. The skin on lips is very delicate as compared to your face or body. Therefore, you better treat your lips with scrubs that are for lips.

Why Brown sugar?

The list of ingredients for making a lips scrub are very long. But the reason, I chose brown sugar because of it’s grainy texture. This is strong enough to scrub away dead skin cells and leave your lips moisturized for the longest time.

There are number of exfoliators you can make using brown sugar. And I’ve got the best resultant DIY’s. Let’s get started-

DIY Lips scrub.

•Brown sugar and coconut oil

Brown sugar – 2 tbsp.

Coconut oil – 1 tbsp.

Vanilla extract -1/4 tbsp.

Mix all these ingredients till it forms a smooth paste and not gritty at all. Rub on your lips and leave for 2-3 mins. Wash with Luke warm water and apply lip balm.

• Brown sugar and honey.

Brown sugar – 2 tbsp.

Coconut oil – 1 tbsp.

Honey – 1 tbsp

Mix it well till a smooth mixture is ready. Rub for 2 min in circular motion and wash with lukewarm water. Finish off by applying a lip balm.

Don’t use toothbrush for rubbing lips. Use fingers or thumb.

• Brown sugar and cocoa butter.

Brown sugar – 2 tbsp.

Coconut oil – 2 tbsp.

Brown sugar -2 tbsp

Essential oils – 1 tbsp ( optional)

Mix melted cocoa butter and coconut oil.

Keep this mixture in refrigerator for 15 seconds. If you have refrigerated it more, microwave it a little. We need a smooth paste. Add brown sugar and essential oils to it.

Apply on your lips and rub it in circular motion for 2-3 mins. I use bramble berry oil mostly. You can use your favourite. Wash off with lukewarm water. Apply lip balm.

•Brown sugar and olive oil.

Brown sugar – 1 tbsp.

Olive oil – 1tbsp.

Honey- 1tbsp (optional)

Mix it well. Apply on your lips. Leave a little grainy texture. Rub in circular motion for 2-3 mins. Wash off with lukewarm water. Apply your favourite lip balm.

These DIY’s will give you noticeable result right after first use. If you have made a slightly more mixture, store in a little container and use whenever you like.

I recommend to store only for 3-4 days. The fresher the scrub, more the benefit.
